How to extract pages from a PDF online

  1. Click Choose File or drag your PDF into the upload area.
  2. In the page range field, type the pages you want — single numbers, comma-separated lists, or ranges using a hyphen (for example: 1,3,7-10).
  3. Click Extract Pages and wait a moment while the new PDF is assembled.
  4. Click Download to save the extracted pages as a standalone PDF file.

What extraction does — and how it differs from similar tools

Extracting pages copies a chosen subset of pages from your PDF into a brand-new document. The original file is not modified in any way: no pages are removed, reordered, or overwritten. This is different from Remove Pages, which deletes pages from the existing document and outputs a trimmed version of that same file. It is also different from Split PDF, which divides a whole document into multiple output files — typically every page becomes its own file, or the document is cut at fixed intervals. Extract Pages gives you surgical control: you define exactly which pages belong in the output, non-consecutive pages are fine, and everything else stays behind in the original.

When to use Extract Pages

Use this tool when you need to share or work with a specific slice of a larger document without distributing the whole thing. Common cases include pulling a single signed signature page from a multi-party contract, sharing one chapter from a lengthy report with a colleague who does not need the rest, lifting an appendix or exhibit from a legal filing, or isolating a specific form page from a government packet before filling it in. It is also useful before sending a PDF for printing when only a few pages are relevant, reducing both cost and paper.

Frequently asked questions

How do I specify which pages to extract?

Type page numbers into the range field separated by commas. Use a hyphen for a continuous run: for example, 2,5,8-11 extracts pages 2, 5, and 8 through 11. Pages do not need to be in order.

Does extracting pages modify or delete anything from the original file?

No. The tool reads your PDF, copies the selected pages into a new document, and leaves the source file completely untouched. You download a separate file containing only the pages you chose.

What is the difference between Extract Pages and Split PDF?

Split PDF divides a document into multiple output files, typically by breaking it at every page or at set intervals. Extract Pages lets you hand-pick a specific subset of pages and save exactly those as one new file, without producing extra files for the pages you did not select.

Is my PDF sent to a server when I use this tool?

No. All processing happens inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device, and nothing is uploaded to any server. This makes the tool safe to use with confidential contracts, medical records, or any sensitive document.
